With latest Windows 10 update it seems that when you create a new VPN connection that unless you add the user name and password before clicking connect the connect function just hangs. In earlier Windows 10 versions it would prompt you for the user log in details. To solve this issue click Start -> Settings -> Network & Internet -> VPN. Then click on the new VPN connection and select Advanced Options -> Edit. Enter the user name and password. Click Save. when you are back at the list of VPN connections click on the new VPN connection and click Connect.
